Description
This tour is conducted in a southern Mayan village known as Red Bank. Every year, several flocks of these birds aggregate to feed on different types of fruits. This is a cyclical migration between the months of December to March.
Research has repeatedly shown that a macaw will return to a nesting site, even though it is sub-standard, and attempt to use it as the “chosen place” for their reproduction attempts. Occurring now is that a decreased population of these rare birds has become geographically isolated and, in addition, is faced with poaching and further habitat loss. Scientific-based warnings about this very probable parrot-situation, one which would likely lead to local extirpation, were aired and spoken about during the Chalillo dam debate. Few cared to listen.

Cancellation Policy:
Deposit and Payment schedule
- A 50% deposit of
your selected tour must be paid in order to secure a confirmed booking, if the
booking is made 60 days or more prior to tour date. - A full
pre-payment is due 30 days prior to arrival. - Full payment for
a tour is due before any departure if the booking is made within 7 days or less.
Cancellation and Refund:
- All cancellation must be received in writing and
confirmed by D -Golden Tours to be considered valid/effective.
- Cancellation received 14 days or more before the
arrival date will receive a full refund of the initial deposit, less a 10%
cancellation fee. - Cancellations received within 13 – 7 days before
the arrival date will receive a 50% refund of the initial deposit, less 10%
cancellation fee. - No refund will be given for
cancellations done 6 days prior to arrival date of any tour, shuttle or
package. - No Refund for No Show.
- Travel Insurance is recommended.
- In the event of cancellation of confirmed tours
due to weather or other unforeseen events, D-Golden Tours will refund full
deposit less fees. D-Golden Tours will
try it’s best to reschedule a trip at the convenience of our guests. - Cancellations by the guest for any reason with
at least 7 days notice from the trip departure time will also be granted a full
refund less fees. - If your tour is canceled by D Golden Tours, due to inclement weather, your deposit
will be refunded to you in full. - D-Golden Tours reserves all right to change
prices at anytime it may be influenced by increased Government taxes or fuel
costs.
